Homemade meatballs are quick to make and so much tastier than anything you find in the freezer aisle. This simple and delicious recipe uses ground beef, onion, and breadcrumbs to form tender meatballs that are baked until golden in under one hour.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound lean ground beef
Instructions
- 1Gather the ingredients. Heat the oven to 350 F.
- 2In a large bowl, combine 1 egg , 2 tablespoons water , 1/2 cup breadcrumbs , 1/4 cup minced onion , 1/2 teaspoon salt , and 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper and combine. Break 1 pound lean ground beef into chunks, then add it to the bowl. Mix gently, but thoroughly, with your hands to combine. Don't overmix.
- 3Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter and place on a broiler pan or a pan with sides topped with a wire rack.
- 4Bake at 350 F for 25 to 30 minutes until meatballs register 165 F on a meat thermometer.
