Dump Cake With Pineapple and Cherry
This super-easy dump cake has only five ingredients, including canned fruit, cake mix, and butter. Everything gets dumped in a pan and baked.
Ingredients
- 1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 (21-ounce) can prepared cherry pie filling
- 1 (15 1/4-ounce) box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup (8-ounces) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped nuts, such as walnuts, pistachios, or peanuts, optional
Instructions
- 1Gather the ingredients.
- 2Position a rack in the center of the oven and heat to 350 F (or 325 F for a glass baking dish). Have a 9 x 13-inch baking pan ready.
- 3Pour pineapple into the pan and spread evenly.
- 4Using a spoon, evenly spread cherry pie filling over pineapple.
- 5Sprinkle cake mix evenly over cherry and pineapple layers.
- 6Cut butter into slices and place evenly over cake mix.
- 7Sprinkle nuts on top, if using.
- 8Bake until the cake is brown on top, about 1 hour.
